Your skin is visible to everyone you meet and is your body’s largest organ so you want to make sure to keep it happy and healthy. That’s easy to say but not always easy to do! Keep your skin in tip-top shape by using these skin care tips as your guide to flawless, healthy skin.
Cleanse before bed.
You start the day off with clean skin but think of how all of the environmental elements clog your pores all day long…yuck! Throughout the day, your skin may get oily and dirty so it’s important to wash your face before bed if you want clear skin. Make sure when you cleanse that you are using a gentle cleanser that’s just right for daily use. If you use something that’s too harsh, your skin will not be happy. How do you know if your cleanser is too harsh? Your skin will feel taunt and dry after you cleanse. If that’s happening to you, make sure you change your product ASAP to avoid further skin damage.
Skip the fancy tools.
Most of us want to reach for a washcloth or facial cleansing brush when we go to wash our face, but do yourself a favor and ditch those tools and use what God gave you – your fingertips! Washcloths and brushes can be way too harsh on your delicate skin. The friction and intense scrubbing with an abrasive material can leave your skin aggravated leading to acne breakouts and possibly uneven skin tone. Instead, cleanse your skin by rubbing the cleanser around with your fingertips. Give yourself a few gentle splashes of water to rid your skin of the cleanser and then gently pat skin dry with a soft towel. If you wish to exfoliate, make sure you are using a gentle product such as Multi-Perfecting Facial Scrub. This will rid your skin of dead cells but not cause any harm.
Hydrate your skin.
When we think of hydrating our skin, most of us probably think of applying a moisturizer. While that is very important (we’ll talk about that in a moment), hydrating from the inside-out is crucial. Make sure you are drinking at least eight 8 fluid ounce glasses of water every day. If you get dehydrated, your skin is one of the first things to take notice and it will look dry and dull. Wear sunscreen at all times.
The sun is something that can do some serious damage to your skin. Regardless if it’s summer, winter, spring, or fall, wearing sunscreen every day is a must. Some people think that their skin tone determines if they need to wear it or not because they think certain skin shades won’t be impacted as much, but that’s simply not true. If you don’t want to add yet another product to your daily routine, find moisturizer or makeup that already has it built in.
